Dump hours and locations
Haywood County runs 10 convenience centers, plus the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in Clyde and White Oak Landfill (WOLF) off I-40 at mile marker 15. All are staffed, not self-serve, and every one of them is closed on Sunday. Each site is listed below with its address and the days it’s open, read from the county’s facilities directory.
Convenience centers: free for county residents — household bagged trash and loose recycling only, plus used motor oil, batteries, and compact fluorescent bulbs at every center (Jones Cove also takes antifreeze). Open 7:00 AM–5:00 PM on the days shown; most centers close one or two weekdays, and it’s a different day at each one, so check yours before you load the truck. All ten share one phone number, 828-627-8042, which rings at the MRF.

MRF and WOLF: take more (bulky items, commercial loads, brush) but charge fees based on weight for commercial or out-of-county material — see what the landfill takes for what’s accepted where.
Materials Recovery Facility (Clyde)

Bagged household waste and loose recycling free; bulky waste, used tires, scrap metal, and fluorescent tubes; small commercial loads weighed at $55 a ton. No brush. County listing
White Oak Landfill (Waynesville)

Holidays: every site closes on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day, and closes at noon on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Every other holiday is a regular day — the county’s holiday list has the dates for the year.
What to expect: convenience centers take county-resident household waste only — construction debris, commercial loads, brush, and anything from outside Haywood County get turned away; those go to the MRF or WOLF instead.
